The UK has its fair share of wonderful Christmas Markets. These tend to be a mix of small local festive markets with local produce or occasionally its possible to find traditional German or French Christmas markets transported to this country.

Birmingham 13th Nov – 23rd Dec
Germany comes to Birmingham with the Frankfurt Christmas Market. With over 90 stalls this is the largest authentic German Christmas market outside of Germany or Austria.
It’s a great place to look for unusual gifts including toys, candles, glasswork, decorations, textile and lacework. Warming food and drink is on sale including Bratwurst, roasted chestnuts and Gluhwein. The bandstand in Victoria Square hosts lunchtime and eveing concerts and a fairground carousel helps keep the children entertained.

Bath 27th Nov – 7 Dec
Why not take a trip to beautiful Bath to visit their ever-popular Christmas market? Set in the UNESCO World Heritage City, this market is fast becoming known as the ‘Christmas City’. It has 123 traditional wooden chalets occupying the magical setting of the Abbey Churchyard alongside the Roman Baths and in the centre of this stunning Georgian city’s shopping district.

This Christmas market is one of the biggest in the UK, attracting upto 250,000 visitors over the four days. Set against the backdrop of Lincoln’s magnificent cathedral and castle, visitors can expect to find a mix of quality handcrafted goods, gifts, locally produced specialist foods and entertainment. For those seeking distinctive Christmas gifts, shoppers should take time to explore the multitude of craft stalls. Here you will find something for every taste and budget.
