Itinerary

Day 1 : London/Prague
We fly to Prague and transfer to our hotel, where we meet our Tour Manager over dinner this evening.

Day 2 : Christmas Eve
On our guided tour of the city we will visit the fascinating castle district, which is dominated by St Vitus’ Cathedral, the country’s largest church and a treasure house of Czech art. This stunning feat of architecture dominates the skyline. Work on it was commissioned by Charles IV and began in 1344 on the site of a 10th century rotunda. It took nearly six centuries to complete, lunch is then taken at a local restaurant. You will also have plenty of time to explore this extraordinary city at your own pace. In a fitting end to the day we will enjoy a festive dinner back at our hotel.

Day 3 : Christmas Day
What better way to celebrate Christmas than with a sumptuous lunch in a restaurant in the heart of this beautiful city? We also take a tour that includes the Old Town Square and its ornate Astronomical Clock, the 18th-century Church of St Nicholas and the spectacular Goltz-Kinsky Palace. For a particularly impressive view of Prague, make sure you find time to walk across the mediaeval Charles Bridge – it is lined with baroque statues and gothic gateways and links the Old Town with the castle district. For the perfect end to the day, a four-course Christmas dinner with live music awaits you this evening.

Day 4 : Boxing Day – Cruising the Vltava River
No trip to Prague is complete without a cruise along the Vltava River. From the comfort of our river cruiser the sights of the lovely city of Prague unfold at a leisurely pace as we enjoy the relaxing atmosphere on board, together with plenty of refreshments. In the evening, after dinner, we are treated to a fabulous performance at the Opera House.

Day 5 : Kutna Hora
On this optional trip to the historic town of Kutna Hora we will see reminders of past grandeur in the magnificent treasury and royal palace as well as the great gothic cathedral with its impressive frescoes and striking trio of spires. To finish the day you can choose to eat at your own choice of restaurant or participate in the optional evening dinner which features an entertaining folklore show.

Day 6 : Prague/London
Today we bid farewell to Prague as we transfer to the airport for our flight back home.

Itinerary

Day 1 : UK/Munich
Fly to Munich and transfer to Salzburg and your hotel.

Day 2 : Salzburg
A guided walking tour explores this enchanting city encircled by mountains and dominated by the mighty Hohensalzburg Fortress. Along the way we’ll see the magnificent palaces and splendid baroque buildings of the Old Town. You’ll also have plenty of free time to explore at your own pace or visit the charming Christmas markets for some last-minute shopping. A memorable dinner is included in the dramatic Hohensalzburg Fortress dating from 1077 that towers above Salzburg’s Old Town.

Day 3 : Christmas Eve
One of Austria’s most stylish ski resorts, you will have plenty of time in Kitzbuhel to explore the old town, or take a ride on the Hahnenkamm cable car for spectacular views of the Austrian Alps. The perfect end to a perfect day is a delicious buffet dinner at your hotel, with musical accompaniment. You’ll also have the opportunity to attend Midnight Mass in one of the city’s churches.

Day 4 : Christmas Day
Awake to the peal of church bells ready for our scenic tour of the Salzkammergut, a snow-covered winter wonderland of towering mountain peaks, sparkling lakes and pretty villages. One of the highlights of the day is delightful Mondsee and the 15th-century church that featured in The Sound of Music as well as the lakeside village of St Wolfgang, home to a legendary operetta based at the White Horse Inn. The day is brought to a fitting finale with a superb four-course festive dinner and live music in the mediaeval cellar of the truly excellent K&K restaurant.

Day 6 : Innsbruck
Today’s optional trip to the Tyrolean capital will give you time to stroll through the mediaeval streets, set against the backdrop of a beautiful river and awe-inspiring mountains. While you’re here be sure to dine out in one of the many good restaurants that serve traditional dishes made with fresh local ingredients.
