With a central location at the heart of Europe, Belgium is a culturally diverse country with a rich and varied history and a subtle sophistication which makes it a fascinating country to visit.
Brussels
Brussels is the capital of Belgium and also administrative centre of the European Union. It’s a bustling, modern and cosmopolitan city that’s always busy with business travellers and visitors alike. The city itself boasts a wonderfully eclectic mix of modern skyscrapers and grandiose medieval, neo-classical and Art Nouveau buildings.
The centre of the city is enclosed by an inner ring road, which follows the course that the ancient medieval city fortifications took. Within this are two distinct areas – the Upper Town and Lower Town. There’s a lot to do in the large city centre area, from shopping in the numerous boutiques and soaking up some culture in the grand museums of the Upper Town, to wandering around the city’s medieval heart in the Lower Town.

Bruges
Bruges (Brugge in Flemish) is widely considered to be one the most beautiful cities in the whole of Europe. Originally a thriving cloth trading port in medieval times, the town has been frozen in time since the decline of the cloth trade and the silting up of the River Zwin, its vital link to the North Sea, in the 16th century. The lessening of the city’s economic fortunes meant the Industrial Revolution largely passed it by. It also managed to avoid bomb damage in both world wars, therefore preserving it perfectly.
