Accommodation
You will stay at the welcoming Landgasthof Wellmann, a comfortable family-run hotel in the town of Markt Taschendorf, between Nuremberg and Würzburg. The hotel has a restaurant, bar, and all bedrooms have private facilities and TV. Please note there is no lift in the hotel.
Itinerary
DAY 1
Local departure for a mid morning crossing to Calais. Continue into Germany for an overnight stop in the Koblenz area on a bed & breakfast basis.
DAY 2
Enjoy a drive through the scenic Rhine Gorge before continuing to Markt Taschendorf. Arrive at your hotel late afternoon for a three night stay. Welcome drink and dinner.
DAY 3
Included three quarter day excursion to Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Enjoy a walking tour in the company of a local guide. You will then have time to browse Germany’s most romantic Christmas markets within the walls of this beautiful mediaeval town. You might want to try one of the locally made ‘snowballs’ or visit the German Christmas museum.
DAY 4
Optional three quarter day excursion to Bamberg located on the River Regnitz. Bamberg’s popular “Route of Nativity Scenes” links about 35 churches, museums, public buildings and places with a series of remarkably diverse Christmas cribs and creates a uniquely festive atmosphere as Christmas approaches.
DAY 5
Ater breakfast depart and return to your final overnight stop in the Aachen area, on bed & breakfast basis.
DAY 6
Continue to Calais for a late afternoon crossing back to the UK. Return to your original departure point in the evening.
